In fact, ironically, when they've mentioned speaking with a source about it, it has been routinely stated that there's nothing to the idea. That could be because there is a lot to the idea, and they're actually just trying to keep it hush-hush. Or it could be because, if one thinks about it logically, it's a dead-end for MLB to play this game as long as crossing the league boundary is, also, a CBA issue. That is, MLB has no better option if they turn down Crane since neither is Drayton McLane willing to move them to the AL.
