I too was initially surprised by the TV spending figures but after some thought, less so.

Sports is one of the few remaining media properties that command a mass audience.  Audience fragmentation, the web, video games....and live sports is thought to be &quot;DVR proof&quot;, which is immensely appealing to advertisers...
