Written by The Staff
Monday, 02 April 2007 15:01

Biz of BaseballSince the installation of the new Add Comment component on The Biz of Baseball, users of Internet Explorer have noticed that the layout of the front page of the site has been impacted negatively (Firefox users were not impacted).

As a workaround, the Add Comment icon has been disabled from the front page of the site. Selecting the link for a posting will show the comments, and please continue to add to the community.

Thanks,

The Biz of Baseball

FYI... If you have selected to feed Biz of Baseball.com content into your blog or website, we have updated the links to do so. The reason? The content system that Biz of Baseball is built on provides only a "flat" feed: no images, no line breaks, no font styles, no HTML. A new component was added to the site today to allow for the feeds to be rich content enabled (you get all the HTML), so now what you see on Biz of Baseball via the front page is what you see fed through the feeds, not just the flat text.

Please update or add syndication through the following new feed links:

Maury Brown's Biz of Sports Launches

Maury Brown's Biz of SportsFor those that follow more than baseball, I wanted to announce that I have shifted my personal blog, The Baseball Journals to Maury Brown's Biz of Sports. This isn't to say that I won't still be covering the business of baseball, quite the contrary. But, that's what The Biz of Baseball is all about, and for the most part, I want to stretch and cover some other sports business aspects.

I started off yesterday with the initial announcement of the rebrand of the blog, but also hit on the drama going on within the NHLPA and more correctly, how Ted Saskin is being accused of going through emails from players investigating his management practices. Cutting to the chase, it would seem nearly impossible at this point for Saskin to remain as head of the NHL Players Association.

More news coming shortly, including news on ticket increases for the Superbowl Champion Indianapolis Colts.

The Biz of Baseball part of USA Today.com redesign
Written by Maury Brown
Wednesday, 07 March 2007 07:17

USA TodayThis week, USA Today announced that it resigned its website to reflect a new expanded journalistic mission:

Our ambition is to help readers quickly and easily make sense of the world around them by giving them a wider view of the news of the day and connecting them with other readers who can contribute to their understanding of events.

Part of the redesign aspect involves pulling in content from various internet media through the BlogBurst network.

The Biz of Baseball is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of these sources within the Baseball portion of USA Today's Sports section.

To view, simply go to the Other Voices from The Web section of the page.
