Arbitration DollarsWith seven players still remaining to be scheduled for arbitration hearings—including Carlos Zambrano (current contract)—the owners, thus far, have a clean sweep of the players.

Yesterday, pitchers John Patterson (contract) of the Nationals and Kevin Gregg (contract) of the Marlins both lost their hearings. This on top of losses by picher Joe Beimel (contract) of the Dodgers, and catcher Josh Paul (contract) of the Devil Rays. In the case of Paul, it was his second loss in hearings in as many years.

Historically, the owners now lead players 273 to 200 in hearing results.
