± Alfonzo was with Triple-A Fresno at the time of the suspension. His suspension was effective May 1st.

§ Cota was penalized under the major league drug program, even though he has not been on a major league roster since last June 15, when he was released by the Pittsburgh Pirates. The reason he was covered by the major league plan rather than the minor league program wasn't announced. At the time of the suspension Cota was with Triple-A Colorado Springs. His suspension was effective immediately.

Ξ Mitre was with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre at the time of his suspension. Although notification of his suspension occurred in 2009, the positive occurred during 2008 testing. His suspension was effective at the start of the 2009 regular season.

∑ It was ruled via arbitration that Romero was negligent for using a nutritional supplement, purchased over the counter (6-OXO-Extreme), which was found to be tainted with androstendione. Although notification of his suspension occurred in 2009, the positive occurred during 2008 testing. His suspension was effective at the start of the 2009 regular season.
