White SoxLuis Hernandez has been named the new Director of Public Relations for the Chicago White Sox.  Hernandez, formerly of Dig Communications, reports to Scott Reifert, vice president of communications, and takes on publicity responsibilities for the club’s off-the-field initiatives.

“We are excited about the addition of Luis to the White Sox communications department,” said Scott Reifert.  “His experience with major brand marketing initiatives and expertise in communicating with Latino audiences, along with his passion and enthusiasm for Chicago White Sox baseball, will be instrumental in the club’s communication with media and fans.”

Most recently, Hernandez spent two years with Dig Communications in Chicago, public relations agency of record for the Miller Brewing Company. There he focused on public relations support of marketing initiatives for various Miller brands, along with specializing in communications strategy for Latino-focused programs.  Prior to Dig, Hernandez spent time at Ogilvy Public Relations (2004) and Ketchum Public Relations (2000-2004), also in Chicago.

Hernandez, a Chicago native, is a graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, where he majored in Public Relations and minored in Spanish for the Bilingual Speaker.  He now resides in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago.
