Mauer and Bo Jackson

NOTE: Maury Brown is reporting from the All-Star Game today.

Bo Knows Joe...

The Home Run Derby at the All-Star Game is a laid-back affair. Everyone is kicking it, and Monday evening was a chance for fans, players, VIPs, and execs to soak up the sun and watch the likes of Corey Hart, Hanley Ramirez, and David Ortiz knock the cover off the ball.

It was also a time to see players and luminaries mingle, such as this great shot of Bo Jackson and Joe Mauer on Monday.

In a separate, wild convergence, as I was standing outside the elevators by the media workroom at Angels Stadium after the Home Run Derby when Commissioner Selig, George Will, Hank Aaron, Frank Robinson, and Bo Jackson all passed by. Yeah, it’s that kind event.
