MiLBThe Triple-A Columbus Clippers of the International League were the top attended club in Minor League Baseball last season, based on data provided by MLB.com. The Clippers pulled in 666,797 fans over 70 openings, or an average of 9,526 for 2009, an increase of 24 percent. Slipping down a notch from 2008 was the Sacramento Rivercats of the Pacific Coast League, drawing 657,095 or a decrease of 6.2 percent from the 700,168 they drew in 2008. No club drew total attendance of over 700,000 in 2009.

The 15 leagues and 176 clubs drew 41,644,518 in paid attendance in 10,269 openings for the 2009 season in Minor League Baseball (see details). The average crowd of 4,055 was 2.9 percent, or 119 fans a game, less than 2008 when the industry established its all-time attendance record of over 43.2 million fans.

Below are the top 10 clubs by total attendance for the 2009 season. The Biz of Baseball will be updating the Minor League Attendance database shortly with complete attendance data for last season.
