CBS Sports' Danny Knobler reports that the A's have agreed on a one year deal with free agent starter Ben Sheets that will pay the righty a guaranteed $10 million for 2010. The contract also contains incentive clauses that could boost the value of the deal should Sheets remain healthy.

Sheets was unable to do that in 2009, missing the entire year recovering from elbow surgery. Sheets' 2008 was a 13-9 campaign with a 3.09 ERA in 31 starts. Sheets had pitched the entirety of his career in Milwaukee for the Brewers, flashing periods of brilliance mingled with frustrating injuries. He'll lead Oakland's staff of young starters.
