According to Nick Piecoro of the AZ Republic, the Arizona Diamondbacks have reached a 1-year, $3.1 million deal with left fielder Conor Jackson, thus avoiding salary arbitration on the last day of the filing period. The salary for 2010 is a 2 percent increase from the $3.05 million he made last year.
In 30 games and 99 ABs last year, Jackson’s slash line was .182/.264/.253 with an OPS of .516.
Jackson's signing reduces the number of arbitration eligible players to 130. The D-Backs remaining arbitration eligible players include Stephen Drew, Miguel Montero, Chad Qualls, Aaron Heilman and Edwin Jackson and have until today to file. Please visit the salary arbitration page for more information.
