MLBlogger Anthony Castrovince posted that the Cleveland Indians have inked well-traveled middle infielder Mark Grudzielanek to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Grudzielanek spent last year almost entirely out of baseball, after being released by the Twins eleven minor league games into the 2009 season.

The 39 year-old is on his seventh franchise. His last major league action came in 2008 with the Royals, where he hit .299/.345/.399 in 360 plate appearances. He'll compete with Luis Rodriguez to back up Luis Valbuena and Asdrubal Cabrera up the middle.
