A "Model of Consistency"?

TBS has seen poor quality announcing from the likes of Chip Caray and Ron Darling over the course of yesterday's AL Central tiebreaker game (Caray calling “Base Hit!” on a crucial flyball out in the 10th) and this evening's ALDS Game 1 between the Twins and the Yankees (Caray, once again, called a base hit when it was a flyball out), but production hasn't been impervious to mistakes on TBS's coverage, as this graphic clearly shows:

chip carey is awful
written by festus, October 08, 2009
He must have dirt on somebody at Time Warner, get this bum out of there. He is banal, idiotic, and maddening beyond all toleration -- ruins the whole experience. My 9 year old Little Leaguers mock him. Some pearls from last night: "So, the fly ball was caught for the third out, and that ends the inning for the Twins", then the commercial break. “So, Sabathia gets the out with a called third strike" --- and what? Does he know he is on TV with a live mike? He reads the wrong facts somebody feeds him, or repeats the same few stupid lines he can remember -- (five times) "Teixeira tied for the lead in the AL for home runs", or at least eight times “the Yankees hit 242 home runs this year”. Pray for a short series, this is torture -- I never thought I would look forward to FOX. Until then down the sound and listen to the radio.

darling is great

You people never listen to Ron Darling during the year. Anyone that listens to him everyday in New York knows he is as smart a baseball guy and announcer around. Him, Keither Hernandez, and Gary Cohen are the best announcing team in the game. I agree, chip carey is awful. But Darling is one of the best. Ask any met fan.
