Team USA is scheduled to play Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic on Saturday Night. Three Hours before the first pitch second baseman Dustin Pedroia was scratched from Team USA’s lineup. He experienced some discomfort in his left oblique while swinging during warmups.
The winner of the game will play Venezuela on Monday night, while the loser plays The Netherlands on Sunday. According to MLB.com, Pedroia is hitting .125 for the classic with both of his hits being doubles. Pedroia is coming off a MVP season last year with the Red Sox where he hit .326 with 17 HR and 83 RBI while scoring 118 runs.
