Lou PiniellaLou Piniella may be managing in the future, but not with the Washington Nationals.

Piniella was besieged with questions regarding his future on Monday while at McAfee Coliseum where he will be an analyst for Fox during the ALCS. Questions regarding a host of manager vacancies were met with only vague answers, except when it came to the Nationals.

"You know, they've got a team that's going to be building for the future," Piniella said at McAfee Coliseum, where he will serve as an analyst for Fox during the American League Championship Series. "That's a situation that's really not for a guy like me. I think they're going to go for a young manager -- and rightfully so."

Piniella's comments came on the same day that the Nationals interviewed Houston Astros bench coach Cecil Cooper and Chicago White Sox third base coach Joey Cora -- both of whom have no MLB managerial experience.

Piniella has been mentioned as a possible successor to Joe Torre should he be fired by the Yankees.
