NPR: Maury Brown Talks MLB Network Launch

MLB NetworkMaury Brown, the President of the Business of Sports Network, which includes BizofBaseball.com, will be on National Public Radio (NPR) New Year’s Day talking about the launch of the MLB Network.

At 6pm ET on New Year’s Day, the dedicated channel for all things Major League Baseball, will reach approximately 50 million households, making it the biggest cable channel launch in history. Carriers from DirecTV, Time Warner Cable, Bright House, Comcast, Cox Communications, and beyond, will be carrying the channel.

Brown talks about the difficulties of launching the channel against the backdrop of the recession, program highlights, the archival programming, and how MLB Network is different from the challenges the NFL Network has come up against.
