Neil Best of Newsday is reporting, and we have had it confirmed, that Jon Heyman will be joining the upcoming MLB Network as a reporter in an ÔÇťinsiderÔÇŁ capacity.
Heyman was formerly with Newsday, and now covers MLB for SI.com, SNY, and WFAN.
MLB Network will be launching to 50 million households on January 1, the largest cable channel launch in history. It will be available on channel 213 on DirecTV, and channel 86 for Verizon FiOS subscribers (other channel selections, such as Cablevision, and Bright House are starting to surface).
