Ken Burns BaseballIt has been lauded and panned, but few baseball fans would say that they haven't seen all or parts of it at some stage. Get the DVR and VHS players warmed up, Ken Burns' Baseball is returning to television.

MLB Network will be showing Baseball on Tuesdays starting at 8pm ET. The new network is set to launch in less than 2 weeks on January 1 (BizofBaseball.com is working to get a complete carrier listing, and will post just as soon as it is available).

I'm a huge fan, but I couldn't care less about the MLB Network now that I know that it won't be in HD on Comcast. It's bad enough that Comcast doesn't carry GameHD.

Wow - you got info about Comcast ...

Geez ... I can not get any solid information from Comcast about this new network. Repeated contacts with service agents on-line and on the phone and two trips to the local customer service store are met with "don't know anything" responses. I'd like to make sure I have the right cable package to watch the network when it goes live but if my cable carrier can't tell me what to do I wonder how well received the new network will be.
The Ken Burns series is fantastic. Watch it with my family every spring as we count down to Opening Day.

I called DirecTV last night and they were unable to tell me if it would be carried on the basic package. Most likely it will be Choice or higher.

Part of Basic Package
written by greenfish415, December 22, 2008
From what I was told, MLB Network will be part of the basic package on Verizon FIOS, Time Warner, Comcast & Direct TV. There will be no additional charge for viewing it. All these cable companies have a stake in the network.
