It appears that the Reds' radio booth will become a family affair. As early as next week an announcement could be made to put Thom Brennaman in the broadcast booth with his father, Marty, for Reds games next season. As reported:
A source said the Reds had contacted the Arizona Diamondbacks for permission to talk to Brennaman and have talked to him. Marty would not comment Sunday on the possibility of Thom getting the job. Thom could not be reached for comment.
The Reds are not renewing the contract of Steve Stewart, who has partnered with Marty for the last three years. The club has said it wants to add a former player. That could still happen. Likely candidates are former Reds Tom Browning and Jeff Brantley. Brantley currently works for ESPN. (The Cincinnati Enquirer)
