The Red Sox owned Fenway Sports Group (FSG), today announced the signing of PGA TOUR professional and New England native Brett Quigley as a client in the company's Golf Division. As part of the agreement, FSG will handle all marketing, sales and public & community relations efforts for Quigley.
The addition of Quigley to the roster of professional golf clients further establishes FSG in the world of golf. FSG's Golf Division, under the direction of Senior Vice President Alex Baldwin, provides a full-range of property management, sponsorship sales & representation and marketing services for professional golf tournaments, corporate clients and Tour professionals. In addition to Quigley, FSG represents PGA TOUR veteran Brad Faxon and LPGA professionals Karrie Webb and Candy Hannemann.
FSG is the sponsorship sales and marketing arm for the PGA TOUR's Deutsche Bank Championship, a PGA TOUR Playoff event held annually at the TPC Boston on Labor Day weekend. It also provides marketing services for the award-winning Gil Hanse-designed Boston Golf Club in Hingham, Mass.
As part of its professional services relationship with Quigley, FSG will direct all sponsorship sales, including negotiating corporate and golf industry partnerships as well as corporate outings and appearances. FSG will also design and implement public relations programs and charitable initiatives that will further build Quigley's brand in the golf and sports markets.
We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with a professional of Brett Quigley's caliber," said Mike Dee, President of Fenway Sports Group. "Brett is a prominent name in the world of golf and we're thrilled to help him manage his career as he continues to flourish on the PGA TOUR."
"FSG understands the golf business and has a great team of executives dedicated to helping me excel both on and off the course," said Quigley. "This is an industry where relationships are important and FSG has the network necessary to help me take my career to the next level."
Quigley was born in Fort Devens, Mass., resides in Warren, R.I., and comes from a well-known New England golf family. His father, Paul, is one of the region's top amateur golfers and his uncle, Dana, for whom Brett used to caddy, is currently a member of the Champions Tour.
"We are proud to have Brett Quigley as the newest client in our Golf Division," said Baldwin. "This is a great 'coming home' of sorts for Brett, having grown up here in New England. It's exciting anytime we add a great client to the FSG family, but knowing that Brett has such close roots to this region is extra special."
Quigley, 38, first earned membership to the PGA TOUR in 1997. Since that time he has amassed nearly $9 million in career earnings, including a career best $2.6 million in the 2006 season. He has twice posted runner-up finishes on the TOUR at the 2001 Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic and the 2004 U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee.
This season, Quigley has finished in the top 10 twice, including a tie for sixth at THE PLAYERS Championship at the TPC Sawgrass. He has more than $700,000 in earnings in 2008 and currently sits 103rd on the FedExCup points standings with 2,663 points.
