Red SoxThe Boston Red Sox yesterday announced several new amenities for fans visiting Fenway Park to usher in the second half of the 2008 season.  These amenities include improvements to existing facilities and introduction of brand new items in the ballpark concession stands, entertainment options in the concourses, family-friendly initiatives, and the official grand opening of The Bleacher Bar on Lansdowne Street .

“We are extremely pleased to unveil these new amenities at Fenway Park for the 2nd half of what promises to be a truly exciting season,” said Red Sox Senior Vice President of Business Operations Jonathan Gilula.  “We want our fans to enjoy and take advantage of all of our new family-friendly concession and entertainment options, which we hope will greatly enhance their experience at America ’s Most Beloved Ballpark.”

LEFT FIELD DECK: Beginning on July 25, the Left Field Deck will be open to all ticketed patrons and will be offering a vast array of Coca-Cola products, beers from around the world, items hot off the grill, and cherry and blue raspberry slush.  The Left Field Deck is located immediately below the Coca-Cola Corner, which debuted in April and can be accessed from the stairs and elevator off of the Gate E Concourse.

NEW CONCESSION ITEMS: The second half of the season will also feature an expanded selection of Boar’s Head deli sandwiches, seasonal fruit offerings including fresh watermelon and pineapple, and ice cold fresh fruit smoothies, all of which will be available for sale in the Big Concourse.  Dunkin Donuts iced coffee and Nestea iced tea will now be vended throughout the seating areas at Fenway and value meals will now be available at all concession stands that feature cost saving combinations such as a hamburger, fries, and a soda or a hot dog, drink, and cotton candy as a kids meal.  Concourse entertainment has been enhanced by the addition of a caricature artist and local Bluegrass, Rock, and Motown bands in addition to existing face-painters, magicians, and balloon artists.  The Rawlings Making the Game booth now resides on Yawkey Way adjacent to Gate A and features personalized items such as bats and baseballs for purchase in addition to demonstrations on how both are made.

Futures at Fenway presented by Filene’s Basement: Family friendly initiatives by the ballclub continue with the annual Futures at Fenway presented by Filene’s Basement that takes place on August 9th at Fenway Park.  Featuring the Lowell Spinners vs. Hudson Valley Renegades and the Pawtucket Red Sox vs. Charlotte Knights, highlights of this year’s event include autograph sessions, discounted concession items, and interactive games for the whole family.  Tickets are available for purchase by calling 877-REDSOX-9 or redsox.com.  Tickets start from just $5.00 and go up to $30.00.

AVAILABILITY OF BEST BUY PLAYERS CLUB: To further enhance the comfort of fans at the ballpark, the Best Buy Player’s Club, located in the Big Concourse, will be open to all fans beginning in the bottom of the 1st inning and will be a climate-controlled area showcasing Best Buy products such as flat screen televisions and interactive gaming systems.  The Best Buy Player’s Club will also feature historic Red Sox memorabilia and items from Fenway Park ’s past, as well as a photo gallery of the 2004 and 2007 Championship seasons.

ACCESSIBILITY AND BENEFITS FOR RED SOX NATION CITIZENS: Improvements have also been made with regards to access to Fenway Park by ticketed patrons or those with tickets left at the will-call windows.  Will-Call is now print-on-demand and pick up windows are now available at Gates A, B, C and E (all gates except D).  Additionally, ticketed Red Sox Nation Citizens who are coming to a game can enter Fenway Park through ‘Nation's Way’ at Gate C on Lansdowne Street and get their 2008 Citizenship Card scanned to be eligible to win exclusive prizes.  Another added benefit for Red Sox Nation Citizens is a 15% discount at the Fenway area Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits on Brookline Avenue with their Red Sox Nation membership card.
