DiamondbacksWith Arizona Diamondbacks CEO Jeff Moorad and COO Tom Garfinkel recently purchasing a controlling interest in the Hall of Fame Racing NASCAR team, one wonders whether the DBacks might be looking to go the way of the Roush Fenway Racing, who have cross-promoted with the Red Sox.

In this week’s Sports Business Radio program (go to the 27:45 mark of the show), Diamondbacks managing partner Jeff Moorad hints that the they  are indeed flirting with the idea of a possible branding a car on their NASCAR team for the Diamondbacks.

Other topics in the Moorad interview include the state of the Diamondbacks when he became managing partner (“We had $230 million in deferred player contracts… $110-$115 million in stadium debt.”), the atmosphere in Phoenix right now (mentions that attendance for NLDS games have been higher than during the 2001 World Series run), and more.
