Seattle MarinersThe Seattle Mariners opening series against the Oakland A’s on Fox Sports Northwest attracted the largest baseball audience on the network in almost two years. Opening Day on April 2nd, a 4-0 Mariners victory, earned a 9.6 Nielsen household rating. Wednesday night’s 9-0 loss at Safeco Field still earned a 9.0 rating, bettering every game rating on the 2006 schedule. The 9.6 Opening Day rating was the largest Mariners audience on FSN since a 9.7 on May 14, 2005, when Seattle faced the Boston Red Sox. FSN’s 2006 Opening Day telecast earned a 5.0.

The Opening Day rating translates to more than 325,000 homes watching the Mariners’ first game of the season in the Seattle DMA.
