Devil RaysThe Tampa Bay Devil Rays will announce today that they will play 3 games at at The Ballpark at Disney's Wide World of Sports on May 14-17 against the Texas Rangers. The games are part of the Ray's attempts to reach out to a more regional fan base, or more directly, the Orlando area.

The Ballpark at Disney's Wide World of Sports has a seating capacity of 9,500, but would be expanded by 2,000 more. 11,500 may not seem like much, but last year a two-game series with the Rangers netted 7,221 fans at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.

As reported by the Orlando Sentinel:

Rays Manager Joe Maddon often talks about how important it is for the Rays to develop a home-field advantage at Tropicana Field, but Maddon said he has no problem with his team playing in Lake Buena Vista.

"I think it could be good for us," Maddon said last week at baseball's winter meetings.

"It could be good for the entire state of Florida. I'm OK with it. I don't see the negative."
