Remember the days when a bobblehead or tee-shirt lured you to the game? With the price of gas, promotions have turned to the more practical.
The Tampa Bay Rays announced on Sunday a promo with Hess Express that will urge fans to “fill up the Trop” when the Rays meet the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday, July 18, the first game following the All-Star break. According to the Rays, all fans in attendance will receive a $5 Hess gas card and Hess will give away another $5,000 in gas to fans during the game. “The Rays have been a great partner of ours for years now,” said Richard Lawlor, Vice President, Sales and Retail Marketing for Hess. “We want to do everything we can to be sure that this great team is welcomed by a full house when they play their first home game after the All-Star break, so we’re adding a little incentive. A family of four can carpool to the game, park for free, and leave with $20 worth of Hess gasoline. That’s a pretty good deal.” Rays President Matt Silverman said, “We are truly appreciative that Hess is stepping up to help drive fans to Tropicana Field. We look forward to large and loud crowds for this game and throughout the second half of the season.” Source: Tampa Bay Rays press release
