DirecTV subscribers that got up early (6am ET, 3am PT) to watch the season opener between the Red Sox and Athletics from Japan found ESPN2 and NESN dead in the water -- an outage of both channels on the Satcaster.
Fans on message boards such as Sons of Sam Horn and Athletics Nation bemoaned getting up early, only to find the channel outage. Emails and phone calls to DirecTV were not taken at game time, and more than one reporter is saying that no word yet has come back to them from DirecTV about the matter. If you have heard from DirecTV on this outage, please contact me. More on this story as it becomes available.
